/about/

A small team writing down a small county.

LocalMoCo is an independent, web-first publication for Montague County, Texas. We write spotlights, long-form, and practical guides. We run a directory of every business we can verify by hand. We send a single email on Friday morning.

We are not a chamber of commerce. We are not a tourism bureau. We have no investors and no national parent. We make our money by helping local businesses get a real presence on the open web — starting with a free permanent listing and climbing, at your own pace, to a microsite or a full studio handoff.

Independent. Local. Slow. That is the whole of it.

Five things we hold to

01
Edited by hand
Reported in the county, by someone who lives in it. AI may assist with drafting and copy-editing; a human always edits and signs off before it ships. See our AI Policy.
02
Verified by hand
No scraped listings. We confirm hours by phone before a business goes live.
03
Open pricing
Every price is on the services page. There is no 'contact us for a quote.'
04
Local ownership
The people running this publication live in Montague County. That is not going to change.
05
Patient with growth
We would rather get six things right than sixty things wrong. Slow is fine here.
